For the first time in a long time, the teenager most likely to annoy was being annoyed himself. As if things weren’t weird enough to be the foreign kid from Australia, people kept asking him weird questions such as “Hey Robbie, where’s your puppet?” Then the kids would giggle why walking away. Robbie didn’t understand this nonsense at all! What did they even mean where was his puppet? He didn’t own a puppet. The last time he had even seen a puppet was probably when he was about eight years old. Americans where so strange. Was it some odd custom in this country or maybe just this city to bring a puppet to school? There was never any kids with puppets on American television shows or anything like that. Maybe these kids were all sniffing sharpies. What other explanation would there be? Shaking his head in confusion, Robbie put his lunch tray down on an empty table and sat there. Today he was having the biggest burrito stuffed with tofu he had ever seen and a mocha latte. It was the meal of his dreams. It took him two seconds before he began shoving his burrito down his throat. With his extreme love of animals, Robbie gave up eating them a long time ago. He forced himself to love tofu, and now he couldn’t get enough of it. “OH MY GOD!” Robbie explained as his tongue practically had intercourse with the mashed burrito inside of his mouth. He twitched in amazement. How could something so terrible taste so wonderful. Words! 266 Credit(s)! Lyrics By: NeverShoutNever & Template By: Me Note(s)! None

Lunch was, in Beck’s opinion, the most chaotic time in Hollywood Arts. Luckily for them, there was a table at the Asphalt Café that people avoided because they knew that it was Beck and his friends’ table. Well, Trina sometimes sat with them, but Beck really didn’t think she’d be considered a friend of his. He only put up with her mostly because she was Tori’s sister. These thoughts were in his mind as he was in line at the Grub Truck, getting a salad wrap, when he heard Trina’s voice from the direction of their table. And he was not in the mood to be dealing with her right now.
He stopped in his tracks and swerved sharply, avoiding that table and searching the entirety of the place to find another table. None of them were empty, but there was one who had only a single person sitting. And he was a bit unfamiliar to him, which was new, since Beck knew almost everyone in the school.
Abandoning all hesitation, he began to make his way to the least occupied table. As he opened his mouth to say something, the boy screamed so suddenly that Beck stumbled back a few steps. "Um," he said, clearing his throat to make his presence known. "Do you mind if I sit here with you?"

It took Robbie a moment to even realize somebody was talking to him. He was so absorbed in the amazing-ness that was his tofu burrito, but he managed to pull his mind off of it for just a moment. People here didn't usually talk to him unless they were making a comment about the stupid puppet in which he didn't own. Still, this guy wasn't mentioning it so Robbie decided it couldn't have been someone coming over here to mess with him. “U-ummm," Robbie stuttered as he swallowed the chunk of burrito in his mouth. "N-no , go ahead. The more the merrier! I prefer to be around people anyways. Being around people would probably make this school a little more tolerable."[/b] Robbie managed to shut his mouth before he sounded like an even bigger dork. He loved to socialize, he just didn't always know how to do it right. He often came off as irritating to people, because he always spoke way to much and never gave anyone else the chance to speak. He decided to work on that while in this country. "Anyways, I'm Robbie,"[/b] Robbie gave his name as a hopeful attempt to seem less of a dork then this dude most likely already thought he was. “Uh,” Beck started to say. “I take it you’re new here?” He wasn’t entirely sure if sitting with someone he didn’t know would turn out to be an enjoyable lunch period, but he managed to convince himself within a split-second that he could try and make new friends. With that thought in mind, he slipped into the seat across the guy.
Robbie? He didn’t think that it was such a common name that there would be two people in the same school with that name. Or maybe he just wasn’t used to it because he had never met a person in his life who had the same name as him. Then again, Beck wasn’t such a common name. Maybe in Canada, there would be people with the same name as him, but not here in Los Angeles.
“I’m Beck,” he said, extending his hand. “Nice to meet you, Robbie. You know you have the same name as one of my friends?” He considered Robbie – Rex’s puppeteer – as a friend, though not the closest. That would be Andre.

It was apparently easy to tell that Robbie was a new student, because this guy didn't have any trouble at all figuring it out. What Robbie didn't realize is that he made it obvious in his previous exchange of words. He wasn't very bright when it came to remembering things he said only moments ago. It probably had something to do with his extremely short attention span. It was something his mother made him promise he would work on. Still, he had failed to do so. He jsut wasn't quite ready for such a change just yet. Robbie knew he hadn't floated to far off the boat from this guy, because he introduced himself back. That was always a good sign in the book of friend making. It was something he'd learn to spot for when speaking to a future victim of his annoying habits. "Ah, I guess my name is shared by a large sum of people,"[/b] Robbie replied before something had hit him. "This friend of yours.... Does he by any chance carry around a stupid puppet or something like that?"[/b] Someone with the same name who a very strange habit would surely be an entrance to the bottom of the food chain. Beck suddenly became curious as to why the new kid moved here, when he realized that he hadn’t even asked him a few important questions. “So, are you a sophomore here, too?” Even as the question left him, he knew that the answer might be ‘No’ since if he was, he would’ve been in some of his classes. But considering that this was the first time Beck saw him, he might be a year younger. Or two.
So far, this guy seemed nice. Not weird, like the guy he shared his name with was. Robbie was Beck’s friend, but there is only so much a guy can take of puppets and two personalities in one person. Beck admired Robbie, though. He could easily convince anyone that Rex wasn’t just a puppet. Though every time Beck would stop and think about it, he’d feel stupid just seconds later. Of course Rex was a puppet! Robbie even had his hand stuck up his… nevermind.
“Yeah,” Beck replied, looking a bit confused. “As a matter of fact he does. Rex. Oh, that’s the name of the puppet, by the way. So you’ve met him already?”

"I'm actually a Junior, I started here late though, because my mum' and me just moved here from Australia. So, I really don't know anyone here,"[/b] Robbie told, hoping he wouldn't ask more questions beyond that. Robbie really didn't want to get into his past about the death of his sister, and the emotional escape which brought what was left of his family to a new country. Just thinking about it made a little of the life drain away from his eyes. He loved his sister, and her memory still lived in him. She'd want him to be optimistic about life, and he just had to hold onto that. A laugh escaped from Robbie's mouth when Beck spoke more about his friend and his puppet. He was just taking a long shot, but apparently this puppet guy with the same name as him actually exists. Unbelievable. The kids at this school were all so incredibly weird. Beck seemed to be the only normal person Robbie managed to come across so far. "Nope, can't say I've had the pleasure. I just keep getting asked what I did with my puppet is all."[/b] Words! 199 Credit(s)! Lyrics By: NeverShoutNever & Template By: Me Note(s)! None

“Oh, a Junior,” Beck smiled. “Nice. I’m a sophomore. Yeah, I know how it feels like moving places.” He paused to take a bite of his wrap before continuing with what he was saying. “I moved here from Canada in grade 7. I didn’t know anyone either. Although I can imagine how much harder it is when you’re a junior.” He stopped and grinned, thinking that he was probably coming off as too much of a talker at this point.
Beck laughed when the boy mentioned how he got acquainted with Robbie’s name. “When you told them your name was Robbie? That’s a bit strange, you don’t look like him in any way. That’s a compliment by the way,” he added, chuckling. “Well, if you want to meet him, I can introduce you to him. I’m sure you’re pretty curious who this guy is that you get associated with him a lot.”

This guy was completely down to earth. Robbie admired that. He thought everyone in this school was as crazy as this Trina girl he ran into, obsessed with being famous stars. "I'm sure he doesn't look that bad. Anyone with my name has to be a looker,"[/b] Robbie said in a sarcastic tone. In truth, most of the people he met with his name were nerds. It was a nerd name, and he had learned to except that. "Meeting him would be amusing, I'm sort of freaked out about meeting the puppet though,"[/b] Robbie spoke, letting a laugh escape from him. "So, what do you and your friend's do around here for fun?"[/b] Robbie was curious, seeing as how everyone he'd asked that question practically put on a play for him. He wondered if everyone in this place new how strange there were or if they had just assumed this was the way life was or something of that nature. Words!167 Credit(s)! “Well, at least you got a warning about it,” he laughed when Robbie mentioned the puppet. “I was surprised at first.” The first time he met Robbie and Rex was when he got into Hollywood Arts. It wasn’t a really pleasant experience since it was really confusing, especially when Rex started bashing on Robbie. Beck was under the impression that Robbie was just a really skilled ventriloquist. He only caught on after a few days of talking to Robbie.
“For fun?” he stopped and thought about it for a few seconds. Usually he’d rehearse if they had a play coming up. Or just do random activities for Sikowitz’ class. “It’s different for everyone. Like me, I’d usually be in the Black Box Theatre reviewing my scripts. Jade would most certainly be with me most of the time.”

Robbie laughed. A warning was a nice thing to have in cases like this. Warnings were also very spare in life. When life gives you lemons, you eat them. Well, that's what Robbie always said at least. It wasn't like the rest of the world thought like him though. "Who's Jade? Your girlfriend?" Robbie asked in curiosity. Robbie hadn't ever really had a girlfriend. Sure, he'd had flings but they always ended. He hadn't found anyone worth hanging onto yet. Everyone he liked just was uninteresting to him or they ate meat and it became a problem with the whole making out thing. Robbie shuttered. It was like kissing a smoker, you could practically taste it. He wasn't a big fan of meat eaters or smokers. Still, he realized he couldn't change the world and left it at that. Robbie coughed, and then he took another bite of his oh-so-amazing burrito. He didn't understand how something could taste so perfect. The best blend of flavors he had ever had. Robbie was never going to have to pack his lunch ever again while he attended this school, that he was sure of. Words! 202 Credit(s)! Lyrics By: NeverShoutNever & Template By: Me Note(s)! None

Beck nodded once when he asked who Jade was. “She’s not that hard to miss,” he said. “She wears a lot of black.. and she has blue streaks in her hair.” Almost everyone in school knew who Beck was, and who Jade was. But absolutely everyone knew about ‘Beck and Jade’. Who wouldn’t, really? Girls were mostly jealous, but Beck wasn’t really one to brag.
But then again, Robbie was new. So there was a reason for him not to know the people in school. Well, he’d give it a few days. By then, Robbie would be acquainted with everyone that it wouldn’t be apparent that he was new at Hollywood Arts.
“So,” he said as an attempt to avoid an awkward silence. “What’d you do for your audition here?”

"She sounds....interesting," Robbie laughed, trying to play off his real thoughts so he wasn't being rude. What he was really saying there was that she sounded a little bit scary. But, hey! If he was into totally creepy chicks, that was his thing. Some guys were into innocent girls, some were into powerful ones, and some guys were into the creepy ones. That just usually meant they were into the freaky stuff, but who was he to judge? Sure, he wasn't into anything that strange himself, but it wasn't as if he had never tried anything weird for one of his flings. Okay, now he knew he was reading way to far into this whole thing and really needed to stop his train of thought. It was starting to become way to deep, and he wanted it to break down before it grew wings. Weird analogy, he knew, but that was Robbie. "I played guitar and sang a little something I had written back home," Robbie said, motioning to the guitar underneath the lunch table where they were sitting. "What did you do when you first got here?"[/b] Robbie attempted to pin point this guys talent, but he was coming up short. His best guess was rock star. Words! 213 Credit(s)! Beck laughed lightly. “Yes, I guess interesting is one way to describe her.” It all depended on who Robbie asked. Of course, he’d hear about her good side if he asked any of her friends, namely Cat, Robbie and Andre. And Tori too, possibly. Although if he asked the teachers, he might get less positive responses.
“She’s really nice once you get to know her, though,” he added quickly, somewhat defensively. “And I’m not just saying that because she’s my girlfriend.” Jade really was unique though, even Beck would admit that. And the first impressions she sent out weren’t always good ones. She was a really good friend and a very loving girlfriend when it came down to stuff that mattered.
Beck remembered his audition.. He did an short piece on one of his grade school plays; the one he thought that was the most powerful that could give him a chance of getting into Hollywood Arts. Also, he had found a way to get Jade in for an audition without her even knowing until the actual day of the audition. If it weren’t for him, they probably wouldn’t be here.. Which made him feel even guiltier since it was one of the reasons Jade didn’t get along with her father. “I did a monologue,” he smiled. “I’m an actor, the occasional singer. Oh, and I play guitar, too. Hmm, how’s Hollywood Arts for you so far?”

Robbie thought about what it would be like for him to have a girlfriend himself. What kind of girl would he even want? She’d have to be a vegetarian and care a lot about animals. There’s no way she could litter. She’d have to use reusable bags at the grocery store. Maybe she’d even wear vegan shoes? That sounded like a pretty awesome girlfriend to him. It wasn’t as if he would ever find a girl like that in this school, or even in this state. Robbie had a hard time dating, because he was always way too judgmental. The girl practically had to be a goddess when it came to animals and the earth. Otherwise, they would have a lot of issues and they’d fight a lot. Back in Australia, he had plenty of friends. Some of those friends were even females. They just didn’t care about the Earth, so he had never considered dating any of them. The ones that did care, didn’t care enough for him. They’d make stupid mistakes at the cost of the earth that would bother the crap out of Robbie. Sure, he was still there friends, but he couldn’t handle being anything more than that. If he was, he’d constantly bother them and probably force them to change for the better. He didn’t like controlling people, but the Earth and animals on it came first. Maybe one day he would be lucky enough to find someone who cared as much as he did. Maybe not.
“Well, I hope I get to meet her sometime.”
Unsure of what he was implying, he had to think about it. Did he really want to meet someone that sounded as scary as she was? Not really. But he did want to keep friends here, and Beck seemed like a possible friend. So, knowing his girlfriend most likely came with that. He was just going to have to deal.
Beck spoke of what he did to get in, and it made Robbie realize how talented he was. Most of these kids had multiple talents. He had no idea why it surprised him.
“I love it here so far. Aside from the puppet incident, everyone seems nice and full of life. It’s like everyone knows exactly what they’re going to be, and they’re not stopping until they get there. I walk into a room and everyone’s got something to do. It’s amazing.”
Robbie quickly shut up after that, realizing he was talking to much. Keeping his hyper tension under control was becoming harder to do as the conversation went up. His foot started tapping underneath the table to confiscate for sitting still for so long. Words! 446 Credit(s)! Lyrics By: NeverShoutNever & Template By: Me Note(s)! None
