Jade was not a morning person, that was for certain. She was more cranky and bitchy than usual before noon, and even worse before she had a cup of coffee. Unfortunately, today it was both before noon, and she has yet to have coffee. The reason being she forgot her wallet on her bedside table this morning. Now on top of her general hatred for this morning her head was pounding. She could feel the migraine setting in behind her eyes. She already took some tylenol but she knew that once it did kick in it would only take the edge off.
She did not get headaches often, on average only about twice every three or so months, but when she did get them they were hell. So, here she was annoyed, with a migraine, and no caffeine to keep her at least slightly pleasant this morning and where was she? In school thirty minutes early. She definitely didn't love that, but her father insisted on taking her to school this morning and he did have work. She really didn't know what the reason was. He never took her to school before. hell, she could probably skip a few days before they actually noticed she hadn't been attending but for some reason he insisted.
So here she was, sitting on the small staircase near the entrance of Hollywood Arts, hoping to the gods that someone she didn't like did not come and talk to her. She really didn't feel like getting a detention and there were a few people that she could probably assault if their annoying voices came and broke her silence. To name a few? Robbie and that stupid puppet of his, Trina Vega, and Tori Vega. She would kill to figure out where Beck was, and she probably wouldn't mind Andre. He didn't talk to her much so she wouldn't really care. She probably would be able to put up with Cat if she could get her to talk quieter.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Cat was early to school though to most that wouldn’t that be a surprise as she was early basically everyday. Cat walked to school and she always set her clocks early so she’d never be late but it just led to her being early. Cat wasn’t the type of person that would remember her clock was ahead of time and leave later, she always left exactly on time just now on time was early. Cat always stopped off at the coffee shop on her way to school and today was no different. Cat loved coffee but her dad banned her from having caffeine so she had to have decaf because she was just too hyper without the caffeine. Today though Cat had two coffees, there was a deal on two coffees the man had convinced her that it would be a good idea for her to use it even though she only wanted one. So Cat walked to school, a decaf coffee in one hand and a caffeinated one in the other. Cat wasn’t sure who she would give the other coffee too but she assumed that this early in the morning there would be someone that wanted one.
Her red velvet cupcake hair was straightened and down just like normal and she had on a pair of jeans, a bright t-shirt and a pair of converses. Cat wasn’t one for shoes she couldn’t walk in; she liked practical shoes that made it easy to her to bounce along. Cat’s walk was often spoken about as she almost bounced along when getting from place to place. Cat liked school and she knew it was weird to be proud of that but at Hollywood Arts it was pretty standard. Hollywood Arts wasn’t like any other school and that was why Cat loved it. She had a bag hung over her shoulder and it had a change of clothes for her dance class and her dance shoes as well as a few scripts and her pencil case full of colourful pens for writing notes in her books. Cat sipped on her coffee and pushed open the door to the school with the side of her body. She walked in not looking around before opening her locker and placing the bag in its furry inside. Cat’s locker was coated in bright pink fluffy material because she liked her books to be soft and comfortable when they were at home in her locker.
She smiled when she saw Jade sitting on the step, Cat liked Jade though she didn’t really understand her. Cat was nice to most people whilst Jade was mean to almost everyone she met but yet she still had many friends, Cat being one of them. Cat knew that Jade trusted her, Cat knew of Jade’s family life which was a pretty big secret and Jade didn’t care when Cat spent time with Beck, though that was a pretty rare occurrence. Cat walked over to Jade with a large grin, “Coffee?” she offered the girl with an outstretched hand. Cat didn’t know if Jade would want it or if she’d take it but she thought she’d give it a go anyway. She sat down next to her friend and smiled brightly, “you’re not normally at school this early” she stated though it was more of a question. Cat was happy to be at school and she smiled at Jade even though she wasn’t getting the wanted response. She perked up seeing the red-head holding a coffee out to her. "Oh my god Cat. You cannot comprehend how much I love you right now." She said. It was a rare moment that something generally pleasant came out of her mouth toward someone. She took the coffee and drank some. It wasn't exactly how she liked it but she really didn't care at the moment. She was just grateful for the caffeinated beverage that was current;y in her hands but would soon be down her throat. She didn't even question why Cat had a second coffee, or coffee in the first place.
"My father insisted on taking me for some reason. I'm trying to figure that one out." She said shrugging. Truthfully, she wouldn't really mind if him driving her to school became a thing, though she doubted that would ever happen. She knows her parents resent everything this school is about but she doesn't care. It's weird, the fact that she's been here for who knows how long and hasn't insulted anyone. She didn't really have the brain power to come up with some witty insult. She was sure she could come up with something if the need arose, but she wasn't about to go out of her way.
She looked around the school, suprised that it was so empty. She never seen it this deserted. It was actually a little diconcerting. She would have figured that a lot of people came to school this early. Yes, people were there, but it was only a handful that she has seen, not including herself and Cat. "Do you usually get here this early?" She asked with an eyebrow raised. She didn't know why anyone would want to. If she had her choice she would still be sleeping. She wasn't a bum who slept until noon every day, but she founf 9:00 a much more suitable time to be awake, and that's usually how late she slept when she didn't have school. She closed her eyes and let the feeling on the warm coffee sliding down her throat consume her. Drinking warm things always made her feel better, of course that only lasted until the warm was gone. She liked coffee because the caffeine at least made her feel a little more awake. She couldn't stand energy drinks, however. It was something about the acidity and the sugar content that made her jittery, and as far as the students needed to know Jade did not get jittery. To them her emotions ranged from mildly annoyed to very, very angry. Of course she was more than that, but she learned early on that showing the general public your emotions tended to get you nothing but a sweet smile and a knife in your back.
That's how she weeded out her friends. Those who still hung out with her even though she was rude and cranky were the ones she would stick with. Hollywood Arts took away her shyness, but that didn't mean she wanted to get stepped all over.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Cat’s eyebrows went up as she heard Jade told her she loved her, this was something new, “you’re very welcome” she said with a soft giggle, she had just gotten a joke that her brother had told her before she left the house. Cat was always a little slow to understand things and so getting the joke in just less than 30 minutes was actually quite fast for the young girl. She smiled at Jade and tapped her foot hating the silence and sitting still. She watched Jade drink her coffee and Cat finished hers before walking quickly to the trash can and throwing her empty cup into it. Cat wasn’t really sure what to do. She sat back down next to Jade and looked up to the girl who was speaking about her dad, “maybe he didn’t want you getting cold” she said simply in a matter of fact tone. Cat had quite a good understanding for what people were talking about but she preferred to make things simple, she knew that she would say the wrong thing if it got into a deep conversation so she liked to keep it light.
Cat looked around, her eyes bouncing about the place almost expecting something to suddenly explode or something like that. Cat hated being still and this was way too still for her, she hummed finally in the gap a little bit and tapping her foot mindlessly. Cat was used to the place being empty and to her it was weird but she was used to it. Most mornings she would head straight to the music room and sing her favourite notes. Cat nodded quickly when Jade asked if she usually arrived this early, “yes, although my clock says that I’m not early… so I think maybe that just everyone else is late” she stated quite simply. Yes, Cat was a little slow on the uptake but it didn’t make her any less friendly and it sure as hell didn’t make her any less talented. Cat was known as being the ‘bipolar’ kid with the crazy red hair and she wasn’t exactly the brightest crayon in the box although her hair begged to differ.
The place was pretty quiet and Cat looked around before thinking about her video blogs on The Slap. The Slap was like Hollywood Arts version of Facebook but you could look on it even if you didn’t go to Hollywood Arts. Cat had a vlog on it called Cat’s Random Thoughts and she pretty much just said the things that went through her head but it was way more entertaining than you would expect. Cat didn’t have what you would call an ordered brain, it tended to jump about from subject to subject so much so that it was easy to get lost in what she was saying. Cat suddenly looked at Jade expectantly, “will you help me record my newest Cat’s Random Thoughts video tonight?” she asked her seriously. “my tripod broke and my brother doesn’t know which way to point a camera” she said explaining to Jade why she needed her help. Cat’s brother wasn’t exactly the sharpest tool in the shed either and he was even worse than Cat in the fact that he didn’t have a talent to compensate for his lack of brain space, poor boy. Jade shook her head at the red headed girl she was talking to. Honestly, she didn't understand her. She was far too excited all the time about seemingly nothing, and her explanations for things were baffling. Not to mention she treated Rex as if he were an actual human being. Yeah, occassionally Jade humured Robbie, and threatened Rex rather than him, but that didn't mean she really beleived he was real. "Yes, Cat. My father, who hasn't had a conversation with my farther than, 'you still dating that punk kid'" She said the end in a generic boy voice. "cared that I would get cold on a moderately warm day." Jade said rolling her eyes. She actually envied Cat's happy naivity. Then she thought about it more and was really glad she was her.
"Cat, are you sure your clocks aren't just early?" Jade asked with a laugh pulling out her cell phone. She pushed the button so it would show the time rather than a blank screen. "See, my phone it automatically updated by a satelite in space. It's always the right time." She explained to Cat. Really, how could someone show up early every day and assume that every single other student, and all the teachers in the school were somehow all late. That would not only get the attention of the news but it probably would also get their school shut down. If Cat still didn't believe her she might agree with her so that she didn't get into an argument with the girl with cupcake colored hair. Cat got defensive very quickly, and she did not need the high pitched squeal of an insulted Cat right now.
She sighed, running her hand through her hair in thought. I pulled the mass of curles back away from her face before they fell into an almost identicle place from where they were before. The streaks in her hair were bright blue today. She just redid them the night before and was very happy with the results. "Ugh, we'll see Cat. I don't have any plans tonight but I'm not making any promises. I'll probably be there but that might change." She told her. She didn't want to give her a definite yeah, because she wasn't sure how she would be feeling later.
"You're brother can't point a video camera? How stupid does a person have to be to not know how to do it. Like do you have to give him a helmet and pads every time he leaves the house?" She said amazed. She had never met anyone younger than the age of like 70 who couldn't operate a video camera. It was a pretty straight foreward experience. Turn it on, push record, point it at the person your filming and keep it steady until it was done.
Jade wondered why the peppy girl would ask her to do it for her. I mean Cat knew other girls, Tori for one, who would probably do something like that and enjoy it. Then there was Trina, who Jade herself wouldn't be able to stand, but she seemed OK with Cat. Sort of.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Cat knew that most people were baffled by her but she didn’t really care, positivity and naivety were things that made Cat Cat and she wouldn’t change for anyone. Cat had an odd charm about her, if people were feeling down but didn’t want to talk about Cat was the best person to chat to, weirdly she often had guys flirting with her two, they liked her looks and enjoyed to chat with the giggly girl. Cat listened as Jade spoke but she wasn’t a big fan of the tone of voice which Jade was using. “you’re dating a punk kid?” Cat asked picking up on the less important part of Jade’s sentence, “but I thought you were dating Beck?” she asked a little confusing. Cat was not the best at understanding what people meant and so she had completely missed the point that in this situation Beck was being referred to as ‘that punk kid’. Cat knew that Beck and Jade had been together for ages so she wondered where this punk guy came in, Jade was always very protective over Beck when it came to other girls, maybe Beck wasn’t protective over Jade enough.
Cat’s eyebrows screwed up a little as she tried to understand what Jade was telling her. She looked at the screen and then at her watch and then back to the screen again, “but then…. that means that this is rubbish” she said taking off her watch and throwing it towards the bin which was near Jade, sadly Cat’s aim wasn’t great and the watch ended up pretty near where Jade was sitting. “but wait, now I don’t have a watch so how do I know the time?” she asked genuinely worried about her lack of time keeping device. Cat tried to think of a way she would be able to tell the time without her watch but she wasn’t sure as she was always used to wearing one. Cat’s hair began to become in her face so she blew it slightly to move it away. Her hair was getting quite long and now that she straightened it, it seemed to get in her way more often.
Cat listened as Jade decided if she was going to help her tonight, “okay” she said simply but then listened as the girl insulted her brother. “yes, he has a helmet, elbow pads and knee pads” she said matter of factly. To her that was pretty normal, her brother was weird but it was something she had grown up with and she was pretty used to it by now. Cat never really asked her brother for help as he was a little on the slow side so she decided that Jade would be a good substitute, especially as she knew that Jade could work a camera. Cat loved doing her pieces for the slap as it seemed people actually enjoyed listening to them. Cat knew that Tori or Trina would help her but she didn’t know where Tori was and Trina would probably turn the camera and point it at herself, she wanted Cat’s random thoughts to be about Cat. Cat didn’t understand the slap she just liked saying what came into her head as she was usually yelled at for it most of the time. Jade smiled, a rare occurrence for her and chuckled good-naturedly at the comment. She took a sip of her coffee, deciding how she would explain to Cat that her father meant Beck. She took a deep breath, it was something that bothered her. She tried defending her boyfriend, he was wonderful and sweet and she loved him and pretty much the only person in the world she could consistently get along with. That's why she was so defensive, bitchy, and jealous when it came to Beck. She honestly did not know what she would do if she lost the boy.
"My father refers to Beck as 'Punk kid', Cat." She explained, a hint of sadness ebbing into her voice. She tended not to show her emotions, to anyone but Beck, she knew it was a surefire way to get herself hurt. Except, she trusted Cat and right now with everything weighing on her mind she could not help but let the little bit of emotion slip. She was just glad Tori wasn't around to make a big deal about her little emotion, or to rub it in her face with a snarky comment.
She laughed again, as Cat threw the watch. She picked it up when it hit the ground, she had tried catching it before it fell but her reflexes were not fast enough. She inspected the thing, making sure Cat hadn't broken anything by throwing it to the ground, shook it lightly near her ear to make sure all of the inner parts were still in place. No sounds were out of the ordinary so she reset the watch to the proper time and held it out to Cat.
"There Cat, it's fixed." She told her. She was mean, but she had a soft spot for Cat. The girl was too naive, and too trusting, that was something that Jade was unwilling to take advantage of, or stamp out of the girl. She knew other people would try but it was the ability to make anyone smile that made Cat special. The girl was honestly her best friend, if you did not count Beck, and she was glad for that.
And now she felt bad for insulting the boy. Jade was a lot of things but she wasn't a completely terrible person. She wouldn't make fun of mentally, or physically challenged people, or people because they were different. She didn't pick on people she was just overly honest when people pissed her off. She wasn't really mean to someone if they did not give her a reason. Her main targets: Tori? Touched, and then kissed her boyfriend. Sinjin? Hit on her no matter how many times she tells him she has Beck and that is not going to change. Trina? No one really liked her, she was arrogant and annoying. There were others but honestly she had her reasons. Sure, she never went around spewing things like 'I love you hair' or things like that to people because A. most of the time she would be lying and Jade doesn't like to lie and B. She had no one to impress.
