Overall Personality
Please list at least 5 personality traits and explain how they would be seen in your character
- Positive Cat is most of the time a positive person, of course she has her down moments too but these are usually short and are easily fixed by something like a sweet. She is normally happy and smiling and easily excited by little things. She tries to make the best out of a situation and doesn’t see why people get down so easily. She is a glass half full kind of girl and just likes to see the silver lining in every cloud.
- Defensive Cat gets very defensive when people seem to be insulting her and she often retorts with her most used phrase ‘what’s that supposed to mean’. She doesn’t understand sarcasm so when people use it on her it makes her feel like they are picking on her. She doesn’t like people making fun of her which is why she turns defensive but most of the time they are just joking or talking about something completely unrelated to what she thinks.
- Talkative Cat talks way too much, her dad believes she talks 9,000 words a day and should cut back to about 15. She often babbles about things that aren’t important and uses may too many words to explain something pretty simple. She isn’t good at being precise or direct and she hates silences so she aims to fill them with speech. She isn’t the type of person that loves her own voice she just has too much to say and too little time to say it.
- Creative Most think Cat is a little crazy but they would still admit she’s talented. Cat is pretty good at anything creative, she can sing, act, dance and even draw although she does that less. Cat is the perfect student for Hollywood Arts because she is creative. She spent ages working on her locker and she loves that the classes are in artistic things rather than normal academic subjects.
- Addicted She becomes obsessed by little things. She gets her claws into something and it becomes everything for her until she moves onto something else. The Sky Store was her latest addiction from which she ordered many things that she didn’t really need but in her mind all of the things she ordered were very important even including the necklace that set off an alarm when someone got too close to her. She finds something and can’t imagine life without it so she becomes addicted it to it, from internet shopping to red velvet cupcakes.

History:
Catarina Millicent Valentine was born on the 21st of August at 11.45pm. She was pretty unlucky in the name department as she was the first girl in the family which meant she had to have her two grandmother’s names and therefore her name became Catarina Millicent. Luckily for her she could shorten her name to Cat and that was what she did, as soon as she could decide what people called her. Cat was a pretty loud child, always screaming and crying and trying to get her way but she was also a sweetheart, with her short dark curly hair and big eyes. She loved being the only child, getting more presents and always being spoilt but she didn’t complain too much when her brother came along. Cat was eight when her brother was born and she was always wanting to hold him and play with him, he was her little doll.
As Cat grew up her vibrant personality became more and more apparent and her ‘bipolar’ traits seemed to shine through. Cat’s family knew she wasn’t actually bipolar but she did have elements of it. They knew her mind changed quite quickly and they soon learnt how to control her. Cat was always the entertainment at family dinners and parties with her astonishing voice. Cat’s parents knew that their daughter was talented but they never really thought about her becoming ‘famous’. To them that was just a ridiculous idea, they didn’t want their little girl to become a fame hungry diva but it turned out that she needed the arts. Cat had always been a confident girl, never scared to walk up to someone and start a conversation with them. Cat loved performing, it was part of her, she liked to make people smile and laugh.
They were looking at High Schools when Cat spotted Hollywood Arts, what she thought to be a perfect school. She was amazed by how creative it was and how relaxed everyone was. People would sing in the corridors and some of the teachers were crazy, it was Cat’s heaven. Cat had always had quite a few friends at middle school but at the same time she’d had the girls that called her weird and made fun of her but it had never bothered her, she just knew who she was and that was all that mattered but at Hollywood Arts she wasn’t weird. Sure, there was no-one else like her but there were people with their own quirks, everyone knew she had talent and that was all that mattered, she didn’t need to be ‘normal’ she could just be Cat.

C-Box Name:Jess.
Other Characters:None.
Roleplay Sample: Evie was upset, she missed the simplicity of New York, the island was just too pretentious. She was fed up of being the poor little red-headed girl that everyone stood on to get where they wanted. She hated being labelled and she hated how blind everyone was. She wanted real friends, people she was positive she was only going to find back in New York. No-one here seemed to have any depth, beauty may only be skin deep but these people only seemed to be skin deep too. Evie hated that all people cared about was how much money you made and how high up your family were on the social scale. Evie had dreams, something that she hoped would help her survive this place. She had found a few people who had seemed to turn over a new leaf but she just wasn’t sure, Evie was usually pretty good at trusting people but she just found it so much harder in Isle de Paix. Evie wasn’t a big fan of school either, when she was in 13 she got to be tutored with the rest of the class and she adored it, and before that it was all fun and games at NYAA. She missed classes that were entirely focused around improvisation or mime. She also missed make-up class, she was actually pretty good at stage and special-effects make up because she had taken it as an extra class even though she was at the school for acting, singing and dancing. Evie had pretty much taken up ever class she could because she was so positive the theatre was where she wanted to be. Being on the island made her even more sure, she didn’t want to live a normal life like everyone else that was there, she wanted to be unique, she wanted to perform every day to a fully packed broadway or west end audience, that would just be unbelievable.
At that moment the girl sat crossed legged on the floor near the lake with her guitar to the side of her. Evie took her guitar most places with her because it was her way of portraying the emotions that she had and she adored it for that. She thought slowly trying to decide what song to sing and then one that struck her was a Christmas related song but she knew that it wouldn’t sound ridiculous if people heard her singing it. She began the song ‘my grown up Christmas list’ and kept it quite soft and mellow. The words meant so much to the girl even though she hadn’t written them. The chorus was just so meaningful and she felt that everyone could relate to it.
“No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal the heart
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end oh,
This is my grown up Christmas list”
She willed for those words to be true, she just wished that santa did exist and could do all those things which she sung about in the song. Evie was a softy but she would happily admit that. The song was one of the many that Evie wished she had written, it was just so true and so passionate that she longed to be able to claim it as her own but it wasn’t so she couldn’t say it was. Evie had numerous favourite artists; she could never pick just one. She hated being asked that question, she hated being told that she had to just choose one, she had so many people that she looked up to and she had made it her quest to meet as many of them as she could. A few had come to see thirteen and the celebrities always came down and met the cast after the show so that had made Evie incredibly happy.
Evie wasn’t really sure why she was at the lake but it had felt like a good place to go to just set herself free. She wanted to think about other things than the drama of the island and why people were the way they were. She wanted to get out of her house where her brothers were just playing xbox all the time, as the girl of the house she could never claim the TV. Evie did love her life, she knew that a lot of people had it a lot worse it was just that the superficialness of the area was getting to her and it was all making her want to just go home. She had her castmates in New York, they were the ones that shared her passion and didn’t care about money. They did things for fun, for love, rather than to just make some money so they could walk around in the latest fashions. Evie didn’t care about the price of clothes that she wore as long as she liked them and as long as she was comfortable in them, to her that was all that really mattered and she was happy to just have stuff from cheaper shops that looked just the same. Evie wasn’t what people would call someone that craved/needed fame. Fame came part and package of her dream and she understood that and so that made her include fame in her wish to succeed. It was hard to be known in the acting industry without being ‘famous’ so Evie knew that one day she’d have to jump straight into the spotlight.
