Jade was actually in a good mood. It wasn't something that happened often and even when it did most people didn't notice the slight shift. Sure, it was still practically world war three in her household, and she still felt like her emotions were ripped out and thrown in a blender, and poured back into her, but she felt good. It was a Friday afternoon and she had, had a good day of classes. She had felt very productive, actually learning things instead of going over the same old same old.
Her parents didn't have anything planned for her for the weekend, and she had vaguely told them that she did have plans. She didn't really have anything in mind, or set in stone, but she also didn't want her parents to attempt another 'family bonding night.' That turned out to be an intervention that left her feeling a little emptier. Like she lost something.
None of that mattered, however, because she was now at the doorstep of one of the few people she considered real family. She considered family to be the people who would bleed for you first, and while she did not want anyone getting truly hurt on her behalf she knew Beck was one of those people. She knew she would do anything within her power to keep him safe. She knew she would do this for her blood family, but she was convinced they would not do the same for her. They cared about her, on some level, she was sure. When it came down to it all they cared about was being picture perfect. Jade West didn't exactly fit the bill.
She went to open the door of Beck's RV, and let herself in quietly. This made her lips quirk up into a bit of a smile. For some reason this place, a stupid RV in the backyard of er boyfriend's parent's house, felt more like home than the house she lived in. Words?! three hundred and thirty nine?!Outfit?! A slight breeze around his ankles told him that his RV door was open. And sure enough, less than a second later, he saw Jade appear on his laptop screen through his webcam. He was video chatting with a friend back in Canada, and Beck thought that an hour was enough for them to have chatted and caught up with one another’s lives. “Oh, girlfriend’s here,” he said, looking straight into the camera and waving. “Talk again soon. Bye.” He closed the conversation with a single click and folded his laptop down before shifting in his seat to look at Jade.
It had taken quite a long time for his parents to wrap their thoughts around the fact that Beck wasn’t going to break up with Jade anytime soon, no matter how badly they wanted him to. And no, Beck wasn’t going out with Jade because she was pretty, which she was. There was something about her that reeled him in. Like how she could stand up for herself; something Beck found was really uncommon with girls. Sure, it feels good for a guy to be able to protect and defend his girlfriend, but no one wants a clingy, dependent girl who can’t function without her boyfriend… especially not Beck.
“To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?” Beck smiled at her. He got up in one swift movement and walked up to her, planting a light kiss on her cheek. “I thought you were doing something with the family tonight?”

She smiled at him when she walked in. "You didn't need to hang up with your friend." She said, in the back of her mind a simple 'as long as it wasn't Vega' was floating around but she didn't want to bring any negativity into the conversation at the moment. When the boy walked over to kiss her on the cheek her smile widened and she hugged him quickly.
"The last time my parents said we had plans, it turned out to be an all out intervention attempt. Instead of breaking me down and building me back up they used it for a circle time, each of my family members telling me exactly what they didn't like about me, my school, my work, and my friends." She explained to him with a frown. She didn't like the feeling she still had, like all of her inner walls to protect herself from the work have been ripped down. The metaphorical nerves of her emotions feeling every single tiny 'breeze' that blows her way, sending her into a fit of pain.
"It's left me a bit drained so I skipped the repeat." She explained. She could use a break from the people she was related to. Come Monday her parents would be on a business trip and it would just be her and her little sister. The girl on her own was not terrible. She loved the little demon child to death, but when her parents were around she could be a monster, attempting to fit the mold they chose for her. She wanted to scoop the girl up and tell her she could do whatever she wanted, but Jade doubted her sister would take the encouragement kindly.
"So who were you chatting with anyways?" She asked, hoping to change the subject. She just worried that she should be worried that he hung up as soon as she entered. It didn't bother her too much. He rarely video chatted but it seemed like an odd thing to do. it wasn't that she did not trust him, because she did, she just happened to be a bit...insecure. His arms automatically went around her when she hugged him, it was kind of a reflex action. When they were out together, it almost seemed as if Beck had to be close to her at all times: holding her hand, sitting beside her or his arm around her waist. Everyone knew that, and they were used to it. “Yeah, but how can I talk to you if I didn’t hang up?” he said with a chuckle.
“I can make that up to you,” he said, sliding an arm around her waist after she finished her story. “How ‘bout I tell you exactly what I like about you? The things you shouldn’t change..? And just leave them all to think what they want to think.” He leaned in and pressed his lips to hers lightly. “Now smile, don’t frown,” he said quietly, literally pulling up the sides of her lips into a smile.. or a grin… it could even pass for a grimace.
“Just a friend from Canada,” he responded. “And it’s a guy, before you get any ideas. Well, it’s a guy and a girl. They were both there.” Beck didn’t want to mention the girl, but he didn’t want to lie either. Although it wasn’t technically lying, if you think about it. But still. He just hoped Jade wouldn’t jump into any conclusions that had anything to do with him video-chatting with a girl who was a country away.

She rolled her eyes. "I'm not saying you shouldn't have hung up I am just saying you didn't need to do so that instant." She explained. He could have finished the conversation or gave a little more time to say goodbye. She couldn't complain about having her boyfriend to herself, however.
[colo832447]"Sappy much. I'm fine it's nothing I've not heard before. It didn't bother me too much...It's just.....After my play I thought at least my dad got me. what I want to do, a little better, but the morning after, he drove me to school. I had taken it as his way of apologizing for my crazy mom, but he asked me to stop this little "game" before i threw my life away. Like coming to Hollywood Arts was simply a new way to rebel. Not like it was something that is a part of me. But enough of that"
She said. She laughed as he tried to force a smile onto her face. She roller her eyes and moved his hands from her face. "Are they friends? Siblings? Dating?" She asked, honestly curious about his friends from Canada. That was a part of his life she knew about, but didn't know as well as the rest of him. It wasn't so much that he was hiding anything. Like his locker explains he had nothing to hide, she knew that, it just didn't often come up.[/blockquote] Words?! Will count later?!Outfit?! Here?!Tags?!Beck?!Notes?!none?!

It wasn’t that Beck didn’t want Jade to see him talking to his friends from Canada, only the fact that it was a bit uncomfortable. He didn’t know why, but probably cause he was used to video-chatting with them when he was by himself. He had nothing against Jade getting to know his friends, of course. That’d come one of these days. Today just wasn’t it.
“Nah,” he shrugged. “We weren’t talking about anything important anyway. Just catching up, basically.” The last time he went back home to Canada was the same day Tori had decided to hold a Hollywood Arts prom. It wasn’t that far to go and visit Vancouver, he just didn’t feel like it most of the time.
“They’ll learn to accept you one way or another,” he said, his voice shifting to a gentle tone. “You’re not doing anything wrong, this is what you love to do.. this is what you want to do. They can’t make you leave Hollywood Arts just to force you into something you don’t want.” Beck caught himself wishing a few times – all of the time, actually – that Jade’s parents could be as understanding as his parents were. Not about the school, but about Jade.
“Friends, yes. Dating, no,” he replied, smiling. “Although the girl was one of my best friends when I was in elementary school in Canada.” Beck was kind of hesitant to tell Jade this part, because she might think something different about it, but what was there to hide, really? Keeping secrets just brings you trouble in the long run.

She nodded, tugging Beck towards his bed to sit down. Standing in the middle of the RV all day would get a bit awkward she figured.
"I actually doubt it. In two years, wherever I end up going to school for acting, I think I might get the stray christmas or birthday card, but...I know they won't pay for my school like they do my sister, but....I think...that will be it." Jade said, owning up to some of her biggest fears. On one hand she would be glad to be rid of the stress and the pressure but they were her family. They were the people who were supposed to love her unconditionally.
"You had a girl as a best friend in elementary? Very noble of you. All the boys thought I had cooties." She said with a smile. By the time they were old enough to not believe in that stuff the cliques had been formed and they would rarely stray from those groups. In the back of her mind, she was worried this girl would swoop in and take Beck away from her, but she was in a different country right now, and fighting about her would just waste her time with him. Besides, she was actually in a good mood. No need to ruin it. Words?! Will count later?!Outfit?! Here?!Tags?!Beck?!Notes?!none?!

Beck followed her and made himself comfortable on the edge of his bed, pulling his leg up. “Hey, you know I’m still going to be there for you no matter what,” he said. “I know it’s different cause they’re your family and all, but I just want you to know that you’re not going to be alone, ‘kay?” He knew it sounded so disgustingly cheesy and sickly sweet, something no one would expect of Beck… and that was why only Jade knew this part of him. There was no reason for him to show their other friends this side of Beck Oliver.
“Yeah, I did,” he laughed. “She was the daughter of my dad’s best friend… so they kind of expected us to click. She said she liked me before I left though, and no, I do not like her,” he said hurriedly, before Jade came to the wrong conclusion. “I was video-chatting with her earlier cause she came over my guy friend’s house just the exact time I decided to call them,” he shrugged lightly. “Coincidence, I guess.”

She shrugged lacing her fingers through his. "You are my family. More-so than any of those people who I'm related to are. Family is the people who you would bleed for, who would bleed for you." She said. She appreciated his sentiments, even if all the mushiness made her want to gag a little bit. She meant the words, though.
"No enough with this gross sappy stuff. So this girl likes you? Like, likes you likes you not just as a friend?" Jade asked, raising her eyebrow. She was not really ok with that. Some girl that he's known since he was in grade school could easily sweep in and take him away from her. She's seen it in plenty of those dumb romantic comedies where girls like her are cast as the villain. Too controlling and bitchy. She couldn't help it if she was overly jealous. She loved him and wouldn't let anyone take him from her without a fight. She didn't see what was so wrong with that. "How close to this girl are you? Do you talk a lot? Or just when she's hanging with your guy friend?" She asked, trying not to say anything that sounded accusing or as if she didn't want him talking to her anymore. She really just wanted to know more about his life in Canada, but the nagging jealousy would not leave her brain. Words?! Will count later?!Outfit?! Here?!Tags?!Beck?!Notes?!none?!

He squeezed her hand lightly. “Well, while you’re here, you don’t need to worry about your problems,” he said quietly. “You come here as an escape from all that. Why stress yourself over it.. Give yourself a break, even for just a few hours.”
Beck was reminded of the reason why he didn’t want her to know that this girl liked him. It had been years since they last seen each other, save his latest visit to Vancouver. And since he had started telling her the truth about this girl, he’d better see it through the end. “Yeah, she likes me,” he shrugged. “But that was years ago. I’ll bet by this time, she’d already lost her feelings for me.”
He listened to all her questions first instead of talking over her; he really didn’t want this to turn into one of their fights. “I was close to her since, like I said, she was one of my best friends. I rarely talk to her now, just the occasional chatting over IM, catching up with each other. I don’t talk to her as much as I do with my other friends, I can assure you of that.”

Jade sighed, holding Beck's hand tightly. She had him now. Not Tori, not some stupid girl from Canada. Jade. Just Jade. She would keep it that way for as long as she could. That much she knew. She didn't want to waste her time with him by fighting, but that was in her nature. She could not always get around it. She always liked the little bit of witty banter that passed between them, it was when they got into full blown screaming matches that made her want to curl up and cry and try to hold the pieces of her breaking heart together. They always made up, though, always. That was something that never failed her as of yet. She just hoped that remained the same.
"I'd like to meet her-well, them." She said. Even if it was as stupid as staking her claim. Showing the girl she wasn't some prissy princess that couldn't do a thing to stop the girl from taking Beck from her, or as silly as staking her claim on Beck. Ok. So she was a lot posessive, but with a boyfriend as attractive as hers, it would be too easy for some girl to think they could just sweep him away from her.
"I want to know more about your life there. It's part of you, and I don't feel like I know that part." She said genuinely. She was curious. She wanted to know about all of the people that were important to Beck. Hell, if she didn't she probably hang out with a good majority of the "gang." She didn't hate Cat and Andre, or even Robbie; though the part of Robbie that was Rex she could do without. The only one she really didn't like was Tori, but she knew they didn't exactly like her all of the time. She realized she was generally cold and mean but that was her. She wasn't completely nice or sweet or preppy. She was dark and cynical, and sarcastic, and sometimes a whole lot of rude. She wouldn't change for them, but Beck seemed to enjoy their company so she jung around with them. Sometimes she even enjoyed herself. Words?! Will count later?!Outfit?! Beck started to hesitate about telling her more about his friend. Not that he had anything to hide, oh definitely not that. But he didn’t want this night to turn into one of their usual fights.. Beck didn’t really notice that they’ve been having a lot of fights until someone in their group of friends had pointed it out to him. It was probably because he’d grown so used to it that it wasn’t out of the ordinary for him anymore. And it wasn’t a good thing, either. As much as possible, he didn’t want to have any disagreements whatsoever with Jade.
Which was impossible, he knew that. Even back when they first started dating, he learned quickly how to deal with her jealousy. Sometimes it made Beck feel good, knowing that Jade loved him that much. Beck might be one of the few guys who’d admit to it, but he somewhat liked it when she got jealous over a classmate or an acquaintance. But that didn’t mean that Beck would make her jealous on purpose! Sometimes Jade went a bit overboard… like today.
“I don’t think it’ll be possible for you to meet them in person,” he responded. Not unless Beck could find a way for her to visit Canada with him. Right now, the possibility was a blur. “But you can join in the next time I chat with them?” He didn’t know if they’d be okay with it, but hopefully they wouldn’t mind. Beck had told them about Jade before, and they’ve expressed their interest in getting to know her.
“Is my past really that important?” he wanted to know. “I mean, sure, I don’t mind showing you that part, I’m just curious why you’d want to know.” If anyone would ask him, Beck would say that it was the present that mattered. Him with Jade, Andre, Cat, Robbie and, very recently, Tori. Jade wasn’t all that okay with Tori, so he made it a point not to be too close to her when Jade was around. The last thing he needed was a fight between his friends.

"I didn't mean in person. I highly doubt my parents would approve of you kidnapping me to Canada any time you go." She said rolling her eyes. "I can see it now." She said clearing her throat to do a good impression of her dad. "Some punk kid just came over and forced my delinquent of a daughter to leave the country with him." with a mock serious face.
"I think he'd find a way to spin it so he could land up both in juvie." She said with a sigh. As much as it sounded nice to actually visit the place that Beck grew up, especially if it meant getting away from her house for a while.
"And it's plenty important. Not as important as the here and now, of course, but these people knew you before I did. You're obviously still attached to them, and they helped shape you into who you are now. Of course I want to know more about it. And anyways, I'm sure they have some pretty amusing dirt on you from when you were in grade school." She said, sticking her tongue out at him. It was childish but she felt like being a little childish every now and then. Now was one of those times. She chalked it up to her uncharacteristically good mood. She probably would be flying off the handle because of his female friend at any other time, but he didn't seem to be hiding her, and she did not want to make any snap judgement before she talked to the girl.
Who knew, she may be as harmless as Cat, though for some reason she doubted it. After the incident with the cheerleader he was watching the puppy for she tried not to make any snap judgement. She had felt incredibly stupid for getting angry over a nine year old, not to mention it gave Tori ammunition to tease her with. That annoyed her more than being in the wrong if she looked back on it. Words?! three hundred and forty three?!Outfit?! Here?!Tags?!Beck?!Notes?!none?!

“Punk kid?” Beck laughed. “Yeah, I guess your dad would see me as a punk kid.” Beck hadn’t met Jade’s parents too often. The one time he saw her dad was when she put up a play, but it was only a glimpse because he had to stay most of the night in the restaurant trying to keep that Chinese lady from going to the school and watching the play. “Hey, that could be fun,” he smiled, playing with her fingers. “You and me both in juvie. What do you say?”
Beck was glad to hear that Jade didn’t want to get to know them only to find out more about the ‘girl’ who liked him years ago. He didn’t know if she was just making up the reasons she told him, but he appreciated the effort that Jade made not to get jealous easily. Beck knew she was, he could easily tell just by looking at her, but since Jade seemed to be in a pretty good mood, he decided not to ruin it by bringing the jealousy issue back up.
“Oh, so you’re going to team up with them and dig stuff out from when I was a kid, huh?” he smiled. He liked this Jade better; when she was in a good mood and not letting everything get on her nerves. Sometimes, more often than Beck would care to admit, Jade would rub off on him and he’d easily get irritated too.

"That's what he calls you. I have tried to get him to let you over for dinner, so they can meet you. I get stonewalled. My father just tells me my mother doesn't want those people in our house, and I'm not sure if he means people from Hollywood Arts, or what but he just ignores me if I try to push the subject." Jade said.
"We definitely don't wanna do the Juvie ting. I want to go to a good arts college, or get a solid role right out of H.A. and I'm sure a trip to a Juvenile Delinquent Center would probably be detrimental to that, we don't need a bad rep right out of school. Maybe once we are old and washed up we could take a few trips to rehab or prison. Have your crazy fun once we've made enough money to pay off the judges." She said with a smile. She rested her head on his shoulder.
"Uhuh. I can always use some more ammo to tease you with." She teased. She hadn't felt this comfortable in a while. Even in her own home she felt tensed up and annoyed at all times. Every now and then the urge to scream at every single one of her family members that they were all bigoted morons got the best of her, sometimes she'd leave in a rampage that probably was not good for the doors in their homes, and more often then not a screaming match occurred from it. Not something she particularly wanted to come 'home' to every day.
Parts of her told he she should not be so dependent on Beck to help her feel more at piece, because of the looming, when if he broke up with her she would probably break a little bit. Not that she would let anyone see the mess left in his wake if he left. Words?! three hundred and forty three?!Outfit?! Here?!Tags?!Beck?!Notes?!none?!
